COOL in the City
The COOL Youth Center provides meals, counseling, tutoring as well as a safe environment for urban kids in the Whittier neighborhood. Teams of 10 people provide and serve meals every Thursday evening during the school year. High School youth serve monthly. Mentoring and tutoring opportunities are available for youth ages 5-18. www.Jabbok Family Services.org

Families Moving Forward
Three weeks a year, WCC provides shelter and hospitality in our building to families with children who are currently without a home. A team of 80 volunteers a week are needed to set up rooms for each family, welcome guests, prepare and serve meals, wash laundry, help with evening activities for children, and overnight hosting.

IOCP
Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners is our local social service organization which serves low income families and individuals from 8 west suburban communities, including Wayzata. A partnership of many faith communities, we participate in their programs throughout the year, including: Adopt-A-Neighborhood, The Sleep Out for Affordable Housing, Minnesota Food Share and Food Shelf Drives, Christmas Adopt-A-Family, and Caring for Kids Initiative. www.iocp.org

Loaves and Fishes
WCC volunteers serve 250- 400 meals at St. Stephens shelter in downtown Minneapolis six times a year on the fourth Monday of the even numbered months. Volunteers are needed to make phone calls, cook, serve, and clean up each evening.

Meals on Wheels
WCC provides drivers to deliver meals and a friendly greeting to the many people unable to leave their homes in the metro area. We deliver meals for a full month, Monday thru Friday, three to four months a year. www.meals-on-wheels.com

Salvation Army Bell Ringers
Volunteer bell ringers take shifts during the Christmas season staffing the red kettle at Lunds in Wayzata. Monies received from the kettles support the Harbor Light Program, a downtown shelter. www.salvationarmyusa.org
