Throughout the month of January we have focused on the story of Jesus and John the Baptist. Pictures above are from a “newscast” in the drama lab on Sunday, painting in the art room, eating “bugs” in the cooking lab, and sound experiments in the science lab!. February’s Unit begins this Sunday with a study of the 12 Disciples!

We Need Your Help!!

This month we are in desperate need of volunteers for teaching and guiding. I promise you, it is fun, and your kids LOVE when you volunteer. I am in need of teachers and guides for kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades throughout the month. Click here to look at the openings and to choose dates to help. Moment for Mission and Bible Books and Games this Week!

Last week we began a two week project writing postcards for children living with chronic illnesses partnering with the nonprofit Give Kids the World. We lit candles for each child, said a prayer and wrote special cards which we’ll send off after this week. If your kids weren’t here last week they’ll have time to join in this week on this meaningful project.

Join us this week as we continue to follow in the footsteps of Jesus in the world.

K-2nd-5:00-5:30 p.m. (Care of You and Art room)

K-5th grade-Bible Books and Game, 7:15-8:30 p.m.

Tell Me about the Bible: Throughout the month of January and February we’ll discover the names of the books of the Bible and play games to help us memorize the old testament books then the New Testament books! We always save time for sharing at the beginning of class and end with a snack and free play in the gym. Join in whenever it works out for your kids

Bring your friends and join in the fun! Feb. 16th from 6-10pm
Kids’ Night Out meets from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Gym. All children ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to join their church family for games, crafts, dinner and a movie once a month at church! This is a great way to build relationships with others and to experience church in a different way. Registration is required.

5th Grade Milestone Ministry Classes!!

This Wednesday will be the last of our Milestone Ministry class for 5th graders and their parents. Even if you’ve missed the other classes join us this week 1/31 as we review the important pieces of communion and walk through a communion experience together. This class will culminate in a celebration of the 5th graders in the sanctuary on Sunday Feb. 11 or Wed. Feb. 14 at the Ash Wednesday Service. We meet again this week in Mithun Hall from 7:15-8:30-pm. Click here to register today.

**Save the date for Mission in Motion and join us for hands-on service projects! February 14, 4-6pm (Ages 3-adult)**

This year the day we celebrate love,Valentine’s Day, February 14th, is also a day to show love to our neighbors near and far! Join us in the gym for our annual hands on service and mission fair at WCC. We’ll make sandwiches for the homeless, fill bags of laundry soap for those in need, make dog for the dog shelter, create snack and play bags for siblings and parents at the Ronald McDonald House and so much more. Representatives from many organizations will be here also to tell you more about their non-profit and to encourage your family to continue volunteering. No cost for this event, bring your friends!

For ages 3 through 5th grade
and 6th-8th grade Junior Counselor Program
Cost: $100 per child

Children with special needs are always welcome! We’ll provide a 1-on-1 Buddy or whatever your child needs. Contact Jodie Nyberg or Hannah Cruzen to discuss details.

New this year: Extended Day
This year we are also offering an extended day from 12:00-4:30 p.m. The charge is $20 per day for extended care. If you choose this option, please send a bag lunch with your child each day. Extended day activities include: outdoor play, gym time, movie or board games, library time and art experiences.

Summer Camp Registration is Now Open! All kids currently in 2nd through 5th grade, you can come to overnight summer camp this year! There are two options for current 2nd-4th graders and 3 times to choose from for current 5th graders who will attend Middle school camp this summer! Click here to register.
