Calling all kids ages k-5th grade!

We need your help at the 9am service as we parade into the sanctuary to celebrate Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem! Arrive at church by 8:55 latest! Check in on the IPADS at the west or east entrance and put a name tag on your child. Then walk with your kids up to Founder’s Hall (right outside the sanctuary)to meet teachers and guides who will hand them a fresh palm branch and gather them in a line.  You can head into the sanctuary to watch our parade! All  grades will parade through the sanctuary with their teachers at the beginning of the service then we’ll head back to our classrooms for our learning. Check out in the Graceland rooms as usual.

Sunday’s in April: Holy Week

Throughout April children will hear the stories of Holy Week, discover that Jesus’ death was not the end of the story, and learn that Jesus’ resurrection is a reason to celebrate!

Bible Story: Matthew 21:1-11; 26:17-58, 69-75; 28:1-10

Bible Verse: He isn’t here, because he’s been raised from the dead, just as he said. Come, see the place where they laid him. Matthew 28:6

Anchor Point: We celebrate Jesus!

Children will experience the Bible story in many different ways. As a result, each Bible story and its meaning will stay with them for life!Through art, cooking, games, missions, science, spiritual practices, and storytelling, children will learn the stories of Holy Week.

Teachers Needed:

May is right around the corner. We still need teachers/guides for all  grades in April. Please consider volunteering to lead a group in their activities this month. Click here or email me to sign up to help this month:

Tithing in Church:

All children received a reusable tithing bag in Sunday School this year. Our hope is that kids get used to bringing in a gift for the church each time they come to Sunday  school (around $1). During our celebration time we talk about the importance of giving back to the church and that in a church we don’t have dues or a cost to attend, we give from our hearts. Please help your kids get in the habit of bringing their tithing gift to church each week.

Wednesdays at WCC!!

This past Wednesday we went into “snow day mode” with  crafts, movie and gym time for all k-8th graders! We still had over 50 kiddos of all ages enjoying time together in their church home as the wind and snow were raging outside! These three cuties got creative in the art room with paper and glue!
6:30-8:00pm Grow Wednesdays: April Theme….HOPE
We can’t always understand why some things happen. But we can believe in a God who keeps His promises. We can have hope, even in the toughest times, because we know God can make something good out of something bad. Each Wednesday in April we’ll discover what the word hope means by diving into meaningful bible stories.
Open gym-Each Wednesday the gym is open for free play from 5:30-6:30 before class starts. Responsible high school students are in the room to monitor kids as they play. All kids are called into their classes by leaders at 6:30 sharp.

Each week Miss Autumn joins us during class to teach songs that tie in with our monthly theme! All kids also have small group leaders who meet with them each week to build relationships and to teach the lessons through games and activities. Research shows that all kids need caring adults other than their parents in their lives to walk with them on the journey. Our committed leaders understand this mission and have signed on for the year to walk in faith with your kids! Take the time to thank your child’s leaders each week.
