Christology:  Who was Jesus/Who is Jesus?
September 15, 22, 29
4:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., Colonade
Led by Rev. Dr. Tony Jones
The very earliest controversy and debate in the church was not over the Bible or the Trinity, it was over the nature of Jesus Christ. Was Jesus human or divine? If he was both, which took precedence? Where is Christ now, and what is his relationship with the Trinity and the world? Studying these early debates will give us great insight into what the church has become.  Rev. Dr. Tony Jones is Interim Teaching Pastor at WCC.

Stop the Clock
October 6 and 13
4:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.,
Led by Rev. Andrea Tatley
What do cutting vegetables, walking in nature and reading sacred scripture have in common? They are all ways to ground, center and care for yourself. ”Stop the Clock” and join in for an hour of exploring what heals your soul and calms both body and mind during stressful times.

The Gospel of Mark
Wednesdays, October 27, November 3, 10, 17
4:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., Colonnade
Led by Rev. Dr. Tony Jones
This year, Tony Jones will teach a cycle of four-week classes on each of the four Gospels. First, we will investigate Mark, the earliest, shortest, and rawest Gospel. We will consider issues like the Gospel’s author, audience, and context. We will also discover its major themes, look at the ways that it is similar and different from the other Gospels, and listen for what it has to say to us today.

Wednesday Bible Study
The Walk: Following in the Way of Jesus
Wednesdays, September 15-October 13
10:00 a.m. in the Colonnade
Led by Rev. Danielle Jones
The essence of the Christian Life is to follow in the way of Jesus.  It sounds good on paper, but how do we do that in our world today? In The Walk, author and pastor Adam Hamilton focuses on five essential spiritual practices that are rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God. Each of these practices is intended as part of our daily walk with Christ while also being an essential part of growing together in the church. Join us to explore these five practices through teaching, small groups and weekly practice. Registration is required and there is a $15 charge for materials.

Thursday Morning Faith Bible Study
Thursdays, beginning September 16
10:00 a.m. in the Colonnade
Led by Rev. Lindy Purdy
One of the longest traditions of this church has been inquisitive Bible Study, and Faith Bible Study has been happening for over 50 years, under different leadership and with some interruptions and changes of venue.  We are thrilled to be bringing it back this fall! We will meet in the Colonnade on Thursdays starting September 16, under the leadership of Rev. S. Lindy Purdy, with help from other clergy. Come join us, all are welcome.  Bring an inquisitive mind and open spirit. No Biblical expertise necessary.  Questions?  Contact Lindy at or 952-451-9051.

Saturday Mornings from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Seekers will meet via ZOOM
Beginning in September, and continuing into the fall, we will meet on Zoom. Occasionally we may meet elsewhere;  if you are on the Seekers email list you will always get an email to advise. Usually we do not meet on holiday weekends.

The world brings daily challenges to everyone. We invite you to take a break from the busyness of the world and experience moments of conscious awareness of God’s presence in you and all around you. Our programs and resources help us to grow in our faith, strengthening our compassionate engagement with others in the world. We seek to go deeper with lots of topics, some may be controversial, but always respectful of the opinions of others. Lay leaders guide the weekly focus in discussion. Sometimes we have guest presenters, audio and video recordings, discussion with other participants, and opportunities for personal reflection.

To join in, send an email and your phone number to Judy Reed by Friday morning. We’ll share the week’s topic and give you the Zoom link.

Unique Family Ministries
The UFM group is open to anyone who has interest in developing and growing ministries to Blended Families, Divorce Care; Single Parents, Adoption/Foster Care and LGBTQ.  We are considering creating new ways to support and connect with each other.  Annual events like the Summit on Stepfamilies and Blended and Blessed that were previously held in person are now virtual events.  This fall, The Ultimate Step Family Worship is taking place virtually September 15, 16, and 17. Feel free to contact Karen Jacques for more information.
