HELPING PEOPLE AND IDEAS RISE
Dough Celebration
Sunday, June 6 in worship at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Last week all of our 14 semi-finalists pitched to our group of Judges. After three hours of process and deliberation, we have selected 5 Dough Grant recipients. Join us in worship on Sunday, June 6th to celebrate this extraordinary mission initiative, to meet our winners, and to hear their pitches live and in person!

What is Dough?
Dough is a social entrepreneurship initiative of Wayzata Community Church created to help people and ideas rise.
Hunger? Homelessness? Job creation?
Get ready to be tackled.
On Sunday, May 2 our semi-finalists worked into the wee hours submitting their final applications! We can’t wait to see how their business plans and strategies have developed with the good coaching and support of the Navigators and Skills Coaches!
If you are feeling discouraged about the state of the world these days, take a moment to meet these semi-finalists. They will restore your hope in the goodness that comes when talented people use their gifts to serve the world! Click here to watch their videos.

How Does Dough Work?
PHASE 1: APPLY (September 13, 2020 – January 5, 2021)
Applicants city-wide are invited to submit an introduction to their ideas to change the world for the better via this website.
PHASE 2: SCREEN (January 6, 2021 – January 20. 2021)
All ideas will be screened according to an objective set of criteria evaluating the concept around three questions:
• Is this a good idea?
• Is this a feasible idea?
• Is this fit with Wayzata Community Church values?
Selected semi-finalists will be moved to phase 3.
PHASE 3: NAVIGATE (January 21, 2021 – May 2, 2021)
Semi-finalists will be paired up with a “Navigator” who will serve as a main point of contact to shepherd applicants forward through the process. In this phase, “Skills Coaches”–church members who have deep knowledge and who are willing to provide their support to you at no cost–will be available to help you polish your idea.
Four “Rise Nights” which gather all semi-finalists will also be available to allow applicants to experience hands-on consulting support, critical pitch help, business and strategy planning assistance, as well as invaluable networking with other like-minded young social entrepreneurs. The point of this phase is to prepare for “Pitch Week.”
PHASE 4: PITCHING (May 3, 2021 – May 22, 2021)
“Pitch Week” will be an applicant’s opportunity to finally pitch their idea to a group of judges empowered by the church to award funding from a pool of $200,000 to the best pitches and ideas.
“…and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
