GO NIGHT: Get started in a Community Group!
Sunday, October 2, 2022
4:00 p.m., Colonnade
On Go Night your whole group comes to church for our kick-off event. While at Go Night you will have time to meet your group, decide on your dates for the next four months, and choose from several small group material options. These groups do not require one leader — members take turns facilitating the time using the materials we will provide. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.
Have you ever wanted to be in a small group but you didn’t know how to get started? Have you ever wished you could find good materials for a small group? Do you like to not only talk about your faith but actually grow in faith, service and relationships with others? Community Groups are a new set of small groups to help you get connected with other people at WCC while learning more about God, one another, and serving the world together.
WHEN DO COMMUNITY GROUPS MEET?
You will choose the time and dates that work for you and your group.Small groups will gather and get organized 2-3 times per year. Fall Session groups will meet from October-January (once per month).
HOW DO I JOIN A COMMUNITY GROUP?
Those who want to be in a community group can:
• Gather people together that they would like to be in a group with. We encourage you to find your own group. If you choose the people you want to be with, you are more likely to stay committed to meet together. BUT we hope you will also invite others you don’t know to join you too! If you are open to having people join you, let us know when you sign up online.
• If you don’t know anyone who you would like to be in a group with, sign up online and we will find a group for you.
• The ideal size for a group is 8-12 participants.
Your group chooses the day and time that works best to meet. Groups are welcome to meet in spaces provided at church. Young parents with children are encouraged to meet during a time when we offer regular kid’s programming, so you can take advantage of your kids being cared for while you meet. Groups can also meet in homes or other spaces.
WHAT WILL OUR GROUP USE FOR MATERIALS?
We will provide three different learning tracks for your group to choose from on Go Night. Folders will include group meeting outline, discussion questions for your meetings and a list of mission opportunities for you to choose from.
