Meet the Leadership Search Committee

.

.

Dick Minors, Chair
My wife, Lee, and I were married in the Chapel at WCC in January 1969, and have been very active members ever since. Over the years I served as chair of Deacons, Nominating, Stewardship/Generosity, Personnel, & was Moderator in 2000.

Lee and I were the Co-Chairs for the “Raise the Roof” campaign 5 years ago that raised millions for repairs & improvements at WCC. I spent most of my working career as Director of Sales or VP of Sales at 3 different medical surgical companies. I later ran my own Search Firm in that same industry.

WCC, it’s leaders, and its members have been an immensely positive and important influence and support for us, our kids, & also our grandkids.

.

Webb Friedly
Webb first fell in love with WCC in 2004 when he and his wife Cara were married in the beautiful white Sanctuary prior to making the move from the East Coast, and became a member shortly after returning to the midwest in 2007. Their twin daughters (now 12) are being brought up in the church, which compels Webb to be as involved as he can to ensure the Church continues its rich and purposeful legacy. He’s been involved in everything from technology strategy, to the High School Program, to Nominating Committee. Most fulfilling, however, was his participation in the search that brought Danielle Jones into our lives, an experience he will bring to this exciting and important work.

Lydia Botham
Lydia has been involved with the church her whole life. Her father, Dr. Harold G.S. King, was senior minister from 1957-1977 and her brother is a retired UCC senior minister in Orange, Connecticut.

Lydia has served on various WCC boards: Trustees, Council, Communications, Human Resources and co-chaired the search committee for Director of High School Ministry, selecting Gabe and Hilary Flynn

In her career, Lydia worked at Land O’Lakes for 40 years and held leadership roles in marketing, public relations and communications.  She retired in the fall of 2018 as VP Community Relations and the Land O’Lakes Foundation. Lydia and her husband Brian have 2 sons, Justine (Megan) and James, and 2 grandchildren, Graham and Beatrice.

Her varied involvement at WCC has included Church Council (Moderator in 2013), three search committees, Raise the Roof Initiative, and the boards of the Nursery School, Children’s Ministries and Middle School Ministries. Rima is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners and recently served on the search committee for their new Executive Director. She and her husband Erik live in Wayzata and have two adult sons and two red labs.

Brandon Moore
Brandon Moore is a husband, father of 2 girls (6 and 3), and career retailer.  He and his family have lived in various parts of the US, and experienced 3 different Christian faith traditions before discovering WCC and our vision to inspire the world with the inclusive love of Jesus.  Since joining WCC in 2017, Brandon has served on the Mission and Outreach Board for 3 years — including one as treasurer.  Brandon also helped with the discovery, design, implementation, Steering Committee, and final judging phase of Dough. Brandon is very honored and humbled to continue his commitment to the church as part of this incredible committee!
