Have you ever played PAC-MAN? ? (Yes, that PAC-MAN game from the 1980s—it’s still around.) The best part of that game is eating the large power pellets. Pac-Man
immediately powers up, and then you can do anything. The bad guys can’t get you! You can eat them and earn bonus points doing it! It’s awesome!
Feeling like we can do anything is a pretty great feeling. We may not have power pellets lying around that we can eat to power up, but we do have another power
source—a real power source that gives us the power to do everything God wants us to do. His name is Jesus. And, He is AMAZING!
WEEK TWO – 6/9
When Jesus is your friend, He gives you the power to have joy
Week two, we will talk about what JOY looks like, and we can’t think of a better story to help us than Paul and Silas worshipping in prison. You know Jesus had to give them the power to do that! We can have joy—even when we are in hard times—when we know Jesus.
WEEK THREE – 6/16
When Jesus is your friend, He gives you the power to have peace
Week three is a week of peace. When connected to Jesus, He gives us the power to have peace. For preschoolers, we define peace as we don’t have to worry. Just look at the birds and the flowers. God takes care of them, so we know He’ll take care of us
too. Jesus taught us that wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, you can have peace because God is with you.
Week four, we will see how a man named Simeon powered up to have patience. He waited a looooong time to see God do what He said He would do. Waiting in line for the slide or waiting for cookies to bake is hard, but we can have patience.
WEEK FIVE – 6/30
When Jesus is your friend, He gives you the power to be kind
We will end with week five, where we will learn what it looks like to be kind. Jesus gives us the power to be kind to everyone, not just the people who are like us. The Good Samaritan will help with this one. We can share and show kindness to one another when we know Jesus.
We are going to Power Up through the the summer with the hope of creating a super fun and engaging experience for preschoolers to learn about the fruit of the spirit—what happens when we are connected to Jesus, the real power source.
Early Childhood on Sundays
Check-in electronically at any of our iPad stations inside the doors of the East and West entrances. Starting at 8:45am, you may bring your child into the main door of the Early Childhood Center located at the East entrance. At our drop off spot, at the end of the main hallway, someone from our Early Childhood Ministry team will escort your child or direct you and your child to the right classroom.
During this worship service, your child will experience Sunday School with their peers in an age appropriate classroom environment. Each class will have free play, group time, a Bible Story, hands on Bible activity, and sing the unit’s theme song!
