It’s almost September which means we’re almost back in full swing for the school year! As we are constantly trying to figure out how to make WCCMS and WCC best for families, there are some changes happening this fall that we want you to be aware of! Read below for more details!

Changes to this year!
WEDNESDAY:
- We’re moving to a block schedule for all of WCC! Did you see the grow brochure in your mailbox at the beginning of August? We’re excited to simplify Wednesday evenings for families. Here’s what you need to know:
- Block 1 (4-5:15pm)- Middle School After School- Join us in the Middle School Corner Wednesdays from 4:00-5:15 p.m. for homework time, friends, gym time, crafting, video games, snacks, and so much more. If you attend West Middle School you can walk over after school, and any other middle schooler can be dropped off at the West entrance of the campus.
- Block 2 (5:15-6:30pm)- Community Meal, Homework & Gym Time- Join us for a Community Meal in Mithun Hall, a time to connect with old friends and build relationships with new ones. The cost is $5.00/person for a healthy meal at a great price! We will also have space to work on homework and have an organized game in the gym!
- Block 3 (6:30-8pm)- Crossroads- NOTICE THE TIME CHANGE! We invite students 6-8th grades to gather on the 1st floor for an experience we call crossroads. Our midweek program is focused on learning to Love ourselves, our neighbors, and God. It includes an evening full of music, games, message, and small groups. In our small groups, we strive to experience true community as we learn to do life together. With amazing adult leaders, our small groups are designed as a place for students to explore God’s amazing love while learning more about who they are called to be.
- Electronic Check-in- ALL children and youth will be checked in electronically this year when they come into the building to help make our ministries safer for all. Please make sure your child is registered before arriving for a smoother arrival. If they are not registered before arriving, we will have a separate station for you to register them.

SUNDAY:
- Middle School Sunday Morning (MS Sun AM) will only meet during the 9am worship service and will start in the Middle School Corner!- Join us for games, video clips, discussions, crafts, food projects and more as we enjoy a light breakfast together! This year we are diving into a year full of getting to know many of the people in the Bible! All 6th, 7th & 8th graders gather together for this more relaxed time to get to know one another!
- During the 10:45 worship service- Middle Schoolers can worship with their families or be a junior leader with Children’s Ministry

Crossroads Kickoff! A Night to Remember!
Wednesday, September 19 from 6:30-8pm
We’re excited to start this year in a big way with our Middle School Leaders and Middle School friends. We’ll enjoy some big fun and have some laughs to start the year, so don’t forget to invite a friend! It will be a night to remember with giveaways, music, inflatables, cotton candy & a nacho bar and much more! We can’t wait to see you!
No need to register for this event, just show up!

In case you were confused… last year we changed what was once know as Stepping Stones is now called MILESTONES!
6th Graders & their Parents/Guardians:
6th Grade Milestone: A Time of Change- Wednesday, January 30 from 6:30-8pm
- This one session Milestone is for parents and their 6th graders, along with their 6th grade Middle School Leaders. We will explore some of the mental, emotional, and physical transitions occurring in the life of a 6th grader. This stone will give ample time for parents and students to talk peer-to-peer about the changes they are feeling and experiencing.
NEW THIS YEAR! Join us for dinner first with other 6th grade families and your 6th Graders Leaders from 5:15-6:30pm in Mithun Hall at WCC!
7th Graders & their Parents/Guardians:
7th Grade Milestone- Learning the Thrive- Wednesday, September 26, October 10 & November 14 from 6:30-8pm
- 7th graders, their parents and our 7th grade leaders gather 3 times for this Milestone to discuss what it means to be in “adolescence” and all the changes happening, address how societal pressures and support structures are different from the way they were a generation ago and how parents and adolescents can begin charting this new territory together, work together to articulate our dream relationship with our parents and then take special steps to make that dream a reality. We will also talk about different faith practices to help us learn to communicate better and how to pray together.
NEW THIS YEAR! Join us for dinner first with other 7th grade families and your 7th Graders Leaders from 5:15-6:30pm in Mithun Hall at WCC!
8th Graders & their Parents/Guardians:
8th Grade Milestone- Celebrating our 8th Graders! Wednesday, May 8 from 6:30-8pm
- This milestone is for parents and their 8th graders and the 8th grade leaders to celebrate our time together in Middle School Ministry. We will gather to bless our 8th graders as they transition into High School, enjoy time together, reflect on our experience together and celebrate this amazing class. We will also give parents and students a chance meet our high school ministry staff and hear about all the amazing things in the family’s future connected to WCC.

MS PARENTS! THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!
Meet & Eat: A fun event for our Middle School Parents & Leaders
Middle School Parents are the number one faith provider in Middle Schoolers lives and we love helping you to do that! Our Middle School Leaders play an important role in the lives of our Middle Schoolers during these constantly changing years. Middle School Parents are invited to join us for this incredible opportunity for conversations with other Middle School parents about what it means to be parenting this beautiful ever-changing age. Get to know other parents at WCC and meet your Middle Schooler’s Leaders, but more importantly for our Middle School Team to meet YOU (and enjoy some yummy food while doing so!)

Where’s CBW?
I LOVE SEEING WHAT MIDDLE SCHOOLERS ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT OUTSIDE OF WCC but getting their event schedule is pretty challenging sometimes! I need your help, please let me know about your middle schooler’s events (THINK PLAYS, GAMES, MUSICAL PERFORMANCES, SHOWS, SCHOLAR COMPETITIONS, ETC!)
Here’s how you can let me know about upcoming dates:
