June 6, 2020 UPDATE ON FOOD DRIVE
Wayzata Community Church members and friends, thank you for your generous hearts! Thanks to you, WCC delivered 5,570 lbs. of food, paper essentials, and hygiene products to our mission partner CES on Friday! Amazing… God is good!
Food Drive on Friday, June 5
Wayzata Community Church is partnering with Community Emergency Service to collect and deliver supplies to families that have been affected by the riots and the shut downs in Minneapolis neighborhoods this past week. Many people no longer have access to public transportation and the food and supplies they need for daily life. CES has deep ties in the city of Minneapolis. It was founded in 1971 and continues to serve neighbors of all races, religious backgrounds and ethnicities in their places of deepest need. CES has asked us to collect the following items and deliver them to their facility on Friday.
Your help is needed in three different ways:
- We are asking for donations of the below items to be delivered to Wayzata Community Church this coming Friday, June 5. Drop off will be between 9 am-Noon.
- We are asking for help delivering items to CES this Friday as well. If you have a large vehicle that you could bring to the church, we will load items into your vehicle and transport them to CES.
- We also need volunteers to help us unload donations from peoples cars and into our van and trailer.
If you would like to sign up to volunteer please click here and sign up on the attached Sign Up Genius. Social distancing measures will be required. We request safe spacing and the wearing of masks for both volunteers and drop off.
Together we can do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God,
Rev. Danielle Jones
Minister of Mission and Congregational Life
