I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.
WCC works with partner organizations and missionaries around the world. To connect with our partners select the get involved button at the bottom of this page.
Several short-term mission trips are organized each year: usually a blend of work, outreach, and support to current cross-cultural workers and churches. We challenge every member of the church to go on a short-term mission experience doing ministry locally, regionally, or internationally. Check below for details on upcoming mission trips.
- Feed My Starving Children: tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to nearly 70 countries each year, where they’re used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and other building blocks of healthy communities in areas of the world where disaster, poverty, disease, and other circumstances prevent regular access to nutritious food.
- Nicaragua E2: Volunteers participate in 30 minute skype video calls from their home computer, tablet or phone to help students at Emprendedora High School in Nicaragua practice English. Mastering conversational English puts the Nicaraguan students at a significant hiring advantage when they graduate.
- Light of Hope- Kenya: Light of Hope Home and School for Girls in Kenya and Lighthouse Ministries in Plymouth, MN, have been one of our key mission partners for the last decade. Our Africa Team plans mission trips to the site, while also raising funds for the school and the girls housed there. This program brings a hands-on experience to the WCC community while supporting the advancement of sustainable community development, building long-term meaningful relationships.
- Opportunity International: In response to Jesus Christ’s call to love and serve the poor, OI’s mission is to empower people to work their way out of chronic poverty, transforming their lives, their children’s futures and their communities. OI provides micro-finance loans, savings, insurance and transformational training to over two million people working their way out of poverty in the developing world.
