Nicaragua Emprendadora E2 English Skype Program
Serve once a week from September 9 – November 11, 2019
Did you know you can participate in international mission from the comfort of your own home? E2 is an English Skype program in partnership with a school in Nicaragua supported by Opportunity International, one of WCC’s mission partners.
Mastering conversational English helps Nicaraguan students gain skills that will help them find livable wage jobs after graduation. WCC volunteers participate in 30 minute Skype video calls from their home computer, tablet or phone. Volunteers receive sample questions and conversation ideas in advance of their calls. During the Skype calls, a pair of students present what they have prepared around the conversation topic for the week. When they have finished, volunteers engage in conversation around the weekly topic.
Volunteers do not need to know Spanish and practice with Skype sessions is available before calls begin. Calls take place during the day on Wednesdays and Thursdays during Emprendedora’s English Classes. Volunteers can sign up to have a weekly call or to become an occasional sub. To sign up for our fall session or to learn more contact Janice Srnec at email@example.com or 952-426-0104.
