Nicaragua Emprendadora E2 English Skype Program
Once a week from March 8 through mid-June
E2 is an English Skype program that pairs WCC members with students at Emprendadora School in Nicaragua. Emprendadora School is a mission project of Opportunity International, one of WCC’s mission partners.
Mastering conversational English helps Nicaraguan students gain skills that will help them find livable wage jobs after graduation. WCC volunteers participate in 30 minute Skype calls from their home computer, tablet or phone. Volunteers receive sample questions and conversations each week to guide their conversations with students. Volunteers can sign up to have a weekly call or to become an occasional sub. To learn more or to sign up for a call, contact Janice Srnec at firstname.lastname@example.org or 952-426-0104.
Meals on Wheels
Weekdays during the Month of May
Delivering meals is a simple and rewarding way to help seniors and people with disabilities in need of hot meals and a daily visit from a friendly face. WCC coordinates delivery volunteers in the Plymouth/Wayzata area and provides drivers almost every day in May. Volunteers arrive at 10:15am to pick up the meals and each route has between 6-8 meals to deliver. Each shift takes about two hours and we need four drivers per day. For more information contact Bob Nash, email@example.com.
