WCCNS Staff Bios

Toddlers: Dandelion Room (2 Day)
JULIE JACOB
Mrs. Jacob is thrilled to be joining the WCCNS team. Julie received her Elementary Education degree from St. Cloud State University. She enjoys her friends, gardening, golfing, reading, yoga, college football and walking her four-legged pal Louie.

SHAE LUEDKE
Ms. Shae is pursuing her nursing degree at St Catherine’s University and with classes being online this year she is excited to have the opportunity to join a WCCNS classroom team. She has previously taught WCCNS Summer Camp for 5 years and has enjoyed her time as a nanny for several WCCNS families. Shae is also a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and, because she has a passion for kids, hopes to work in pediatric nursing post graduation. When she’s not working or at school, Ms. Shae loves painting, yoga, spending time at her family cabin, and her dogs Lucy and Brooks.

Toddlers: Sunshine Room (2 Day)
ASHLEY CRUZEN
This is Ms. Ashley’s 4th year teaching at WCCNS and her 3rd year in the Sunshine Room. Toddlers are her favorite age group because they are funny and unapologetically themselves. In addition to work, Ashley is excited to be finishing her CDA (child development association credential). When Ashley isn’t at school, you’ll most likely find her spending quality time at home or at the cabin with someone from her GIGANTIC family.

MARY COATS
Ms. Mary holds her B.A. in Religion and Theatre/Dance from Luther College and has taught and performed for various groups around the Twin Cities including St. Paul City Ballet and Cross Current. She has also choreographed many Senior and Junior High Musical productions. In addition to dance and musical theatre, Mary enjoys teaching yoga and is certified by the Yoga Center of Minneapolis. Ms. Mary has brought all of her performing arts skill and yoga knowledge to share with children in multiple classrooms as well as our Music & Movement Program over the 18 years she has been teaching at WCCNS.

BETH VELNER
Ms. Beth has been teaching at WCCNS for 2 years, but she is no stranger to the Early Childhood field. After 34 years of teaching, mostly with toddlers, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to learn and teach with Pre-K this year! Prior to starting at WCCNS, Ms. Beth taught for 18 years at St. David’s Center for Child and Family Development. Ms. Beth also loves to spend her time reading, watching movies, and singing.

JEN DRAHEIM
Ms. Jen is so excited to be in the Sunshine Room again with the littles! Jen has her degree in Child Development from the University of Minnesota, Masters in Family Education, and also holds a Minnesota teaching license. She taught for many years and then stayed home with her kids, returning to education 5 years ago here at WCCNS. When Jen isn’t teaching, fostering, attending soccer, football, hockey, baseball, and golf events, you can find her relaxing and spending family time at the cabin.

TOM REKWARD
Mr. Tom is entering his 4th year at WCCNS and 7th year of teaching. Prior to teaching at WCCNS, Mr. Tom spent time teaching internationally. He even taught preschool in China! His favorite thing about our school is our focus on play-based curriculum. When he’s not spending time at school or with family, you can find Tom curled up with a good book or out camping in the wilderness.

Preschool: Apple Room (2 Day)
NANCY ROLLINS
Mrs. Rollins is looking forward to starting her 17th year of teaching preschool at WCCNS and her 34th year of teaching preschool! Not only does Nancy teach in the Apple room, she also teaches Literacy Adventures and is a Curriculum Coordinator for our school. Nancy has a teaching degree from St Cloud State University and is licensed to teach infants through 6th grade, but preschool is her favorite age group to teach. Mrs. Rollins and her husband love to spend time with their large immediate family of 26.

KATHY BICHEL
This will be Ms. Kathy’s 3rd year at WCCNS. She is very excited to make the shift from the Sunshine Room to the Apple Room and see some familiar faces! Kathy graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a degree in Liberal Studies and worked in sales/marketing for 15 years before staying home to raise her family. In her free time, Ms. Kathy enjoys yoga, cooking, and boating with her husband.

Preschool: Apple Room (3 Day)
LESLIE PRONDZINSKI
Mrs. P has a B.S. degree in Public Relations with a minor in Psychology. After staying home with her kids, she joined the WCCNS staff in 2010. She has taught with Mrs. Rollins in the Apple Room for 7 years and is excited to have the opportunity to teach our new Discovery Club enrichment class this year. In her free time, Leslie enjoys working out, walking her dog Bailey, decorating, traveling, and spending time with her three children.

KERRI COLLINGE
Mrs. Collinge LOVES kids and is very excited to get back to teaching in the Butterfly Room and to meet our new preschool students! Kerri has a degree in Elementary Education from the University of WI-Madison and taught in the Minnetonka School District before starting her family. Mrs. Collinge has enjoyed teaching in the Sunshine, Treehouse and Schoolhouse classrooms and in our Extended Care program. Some of her favorite things are boating, gardening, traveling, biking and playing with her new puppy, Lucy.

PEG MATUSESKI
Mrs. M has a B.S. degree in Public Relations/Marketing and worked for 15 years in the reinsurance industry. After staying at home to raise her 3 children, in 2010 she became a certified 200 RYT yoga instructor. In 2015, she began her career in Early Childhood Education. She is beginning her 5th year as a preschool teacher at WCCNS. She feels blessed to spend her days doing the things she loves most … teaching kids and yoga!

LISA FORTNEY
Ms. Lisa is excited to be joining the WCCNS family for her first year as an Assistant Teacher! She has a B.S. in Education, as well as a Masters Degree in Speech & Language Pathology from the University of WI – Madison. Ms. Lisa has enjoyed volunteering at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis as a baby rocker in the NICU. In her free time, Ms. Lisa loves being with her family, going to the theatre, and walking on the beach! She can’t wait to meet you all and is looking forward to a great year.

Prekindergarten: Firefly Room (3 Day)
JENNIFER WING
Ms. Jen is so excited to be back at WCCNS this year! She has a degree in Elementary Education, with a specialization in Early Childhood, and taught Kindergarten for 7 years before staying home with her children. Ms. Jen’s teenage children are involved in cheer and baseball which takes up most of her free time, but when she can, she loves to travel, garden and read.

OUFREEZ ARGENTA
Mrs. Argenta has devoted her life’s work to education. Professionally, her work has ranged from Middle School on up to Graduate Students. Oufreez has degrees from University of Michigan and University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Argenta has traveled to India 5 times, traveled to Rwanda, and her family lived in Scotland for 6 months!

Prekindergarten: Caterpiller Room (3 Day)
HANNAH CRUZEN
Ms. Hannah is delighted to be joining the Pre-K team after spending 3 years on our Toddler team. In addition to her B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education, Hannah holds birth-grade 3 teaching licenses in both MN and WI. Ms. Hannah also enjoyes her full-time role as Early Childhood Integration Specialist involves serving as Director of Early Childhood Ministry. When she’s not at WCC, you can find Hannah spending time with her family, or singing and dancing while whipping up a new recipe in the kitchen.

MARIE DEPAUW
This is Ms. DePauw’s 16th year at WCCNS, but she has been teaching preschool for over 30 years and is very excited for this year to begin! At WCCNS, Mrs. DePauw started out teaching in the Treehouse Room, and then spent 6 years in the Schoolhouse Room. Last year she was back in the Treehouse Room and now she’s back in Schoolhouse again! Marie loves to quilt and spend time with her (really large) family.

HOPE QUINN
Ms. Hope is thrilled to join the WCCNS community! She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Bowling Green State University in Ohio (Go Buckeyes!) where she grew up living above the Pre-K school that her mom still owns today. In school she earned a specialization in musical theatre and has been fortunate enough to have worked professionally for the past six years, performing for and working with children and adults alike. Hope just recently relocated to Minnesota with her dog, Bailey, and is looking forward to her first stand-up paddle board ride on Lake Bde Maka Ska.

Extended Care
TOM REKWARD
Mr. Tom is entering his 4th year at WCCNS and 7th year of teaching. Prior to teaching at WCCNS, Mr. Tom spent time teaching internationally. He even taught preschool in China! His favorite thing about our school is our focus on play-based curriculum. When he’s not spending time at school or with family, you can find Tom curled up with a good book or out camping in the wilderness.

Ms. Sara holds a degree in communications and psychology. She started working at Wayzata Community Church in 2008 on the Children’s Ministry team, starting the journey of developing a strong Early Childhood Ministry. She then made the shift to the school side, becoming the Assistant Director of WCCNS in 2010 and Director in 2011. Ms. Sara loves her job because of all of the amazing kids and families who make our community such a wonderful place to be. When Sara isn’t at school, you may find her running, biking, doing yoga, and spending time at her cabin with her family and their 2 dogs, Lucy and Brooks.

CHRISSA SWART, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Ms. Chrissa has been working in Early Childhood Education since she was 16! She worked after school, in summer during college, and then started full time with Kindercare. She spent many years there as a Program Specialist, Assistant Director, and eventually became Director. After taking a break to volunteer with her son’s elementary school and the childcare center at her church, she started at WCCNS in 2014. Ms. Chrissa taught morning and afternoon PreK as well as our Extended Care program. After 4 wonderful years in the Schoolhouse Room, she accepted the role of Assistant Director! Ms. Chrissa loves WCCNS and can’t wait to start another school year!
