The Prayer Pilgrimage is offered daily, beginning March 3 through Easter Sunday
A pilgrimage is a journey experience that invites you to begin in one place and end in a new place. Like any journey it requires the engagement of your body, mind and soul and it is an invitation to journey with God in a new way. The season of Lent invites us to consider every facet of our lives. It is a time of examining our lives and asking ourselves to take stock of our relationship with God. Lent asks us to lay some things down, to pick new things up, and to release things that are holding us back from a deeper relationship with God.
Start Your Prayer Pilgrimage at the Front Portico
The South Doors (under the Portico) will be open from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
All are welcome, no matter where you are on your faith journey!
To begin your Pilgrimage walk, we invite you to step inside the front vestibule, under the portico, to pick up your “Pilgrim Pack,” which contains a Pilgrimage Passport and your scallop shell, pen, and marker. Take a moment to personalize your Pilgrimage Passport. Choose a ribbon to take with you on your pilgrimage— you will use this on Station #5. Then head out the doors and turn right to find Pilgrimage Station #2.You will walk to the next 6 stations, which are all located around the front area of the church and offer reflections and questions on forgiveness, empathy, inclusion, One Word for 2021, servanthood, and sacrifice.
Special thanks to Rev. Lindy Purdy, whose extensive knowledge and personal experience with Pilgrimages helped to shape the Pilgrimage we have created for you!
