This Easter we are encouraging you to consider giving to two of our mission partners who are doing important work to serve our community during this challenging time, and to Wayzata Community Church.
Families Moving Forward
Beginning Easter morning, Wayzata Community Church was prepared to host 3-5 families in our building with Families Moving Forward as we often do several times a year. To protect families and shelter volunteers Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative has decided to shelter families in motels for the next several weeks. This decision will lead to around $6000 per week in extra expenses for Beacon. With that in mind, we are inviting you to give to Beacon in the ways you feel led to help offset this cost. A gift of $100 will house a family for a night- and $600 will house a family for a week.
Another important community partner is Interfaith Outreach. Interfaith Outreach serves our neighborhood in a multitude of ways throughout the year. During the outbreak they are particularly focused on making sure that all who are in need of food have their needs met. $1 given to Interfaith Outreach sources $9 of food with the help of food sourcing partners. With that in mind, $50 provides 236 meals to prevent hunger, $100 feeds a family of 4 for 1 month. And $250 fills 60 emergency bags for community members in need.
Gift to WCC
Even as we reach out with generosity to our mission partners, Wayzata Community Church has real needs as well. From the outset of the Coronavirus crisis, our priorities have remained the same: to care, to stay connected, and to keep the church running. The efforts and outcomes of our staff have been outstanding! We don’t yet know the full impact of this crisis on our 2020 budget. We invite you to keep your giving current by giving online weekly or by making an Easter gift to support our church budget. Together we can partner to inspire the world with the inclusive love of Jesus.
